What we are doing
We wrote to you previously to advise you that we would be carrying out sheet piling works from 1 to 16 April 2021. However, we have rearranged these dates and the works will now take place from 3 to 15 May.
We will carry out sheet piling works next to the Chiltern Line, shown on the map overleaf. This work will help us to support the railway during the excavation works needed for the construction of an overbridge as part of the Harvil Road realignment.
Steel sheet piles will be installed in sequence along the planned perimeter and pressed into position. A piling rig will be used to push the sheets into the ground. In the event that we find hard ground or obstacles, a vibrohammer will be used to loosen the ground and drive the sheets through these areas.
How this work might affect you
A piling rig, cranes and construction machinery will be visible in the area during these works.
Due to the location of the sheet piles installation the work will take place during a period where the Chiltern Line has no trains on the tracks for the safety of the operatives and rail users. This being the case the work will take place during the hours shown on the blue panel.
